Google Search Appliance Upgrade

June 4th, 2010 by Erick Beck

The new Google Search Appliance was put into production last night.  In general everything went smoothly, but we have discovered that the new machine is a bit more finicky about the format of the search form than the old machine was.  If you have a custom search on your site, please check your page and be sure the code is the same as posted in the help documentation.  Leaving off the ‘proxystylesheet’  parameter will cause the returns page to break.

We will look into the appliance configuration to make sure this isn’t being caused by something we left off in the migration process, but using the form fields spelled out in the documentation will be a quick fix if your returns page is breaking.
