Computing Policies/Procedures

December 15th, 2008 by Erick Beck

Our email inbox receives all sorts of inquiries (above and beyond those in the tons of spam we receive.) We might receive questions on international applications one day and a request to “I’ve heard you have a wonderful veterinary school there, can you help my sick cat?” We also get a lot of questions regarding Information Technology procedures and “what should we do?” in some given set of circumstances.

Not being the experts ourselves, we refer these questions to the appropriate office on campus. One resource might help you out though. CIS has compiled a list of policies and procedures that cover everything from data-protecting your portable devices to incidental use and responsible computing for students.

Take a look at these, it will be easier to know them than to implement your own complete departmental IT policy.
