CMS Project

Everything is starting to come together on the CMS project.

The evaluation team is pretty much in place, though a few additions are still in the works.  We have tried to
choose a broad spectrum of people to represent not only different parts of the university but also different specialites and with different interests in the CMS system.

The team will consist of:

(* There is interest from the System level in reviewing these products and perhaps expanding the licensing for the selected product. Stephanie is coordinating this effort, and there will likely be representatives from some of these other schools joining the team.)

After attending the uWeb CMS fair earlier this year, talking to vendors, researching a host of products, and going through several web demos, we have come up with a short list of products to review in detail.  We will invite these folks to campus (scheduling looks like late July) to give a detailed demo of their product before the evalutation team. From there we will decide whether one of the products reviewed will meet our needs or if we need to revisit with others.

  3. Calendaring has been specifically mentioned by one of the product vendors, and I have seen it as a listed capability in at least one of the others. I honestly haven’t looked at this feature in great detail, though, so I don’t know how robust it might be.
