It has been a long time coming, but we have finally circled back around to re-launching our own departmental website. Those of you who remember the “old and busted” version will appreciate the “new hotness.”
The site used to be little more than a glorified contact list. It didn’t do a good job of telling what the department did or what we offer to the university. On top of that, it was designed in a rather un-aggielike shade of teal. We did a cosmetic upgrade to the site a few months ago to bring it back into the university branding model, but the content was left pretty much the same.
For this overhaul we wanted to make the site actually be useful for our campus constituency. We looked at all of the services that we offer and made them the centerpiece of the site. We now have easy to reach toolkits and resources for communicators across campus. The front page will also showcase a series of articles written by Marcomm staff on a number of topics that highlight departmental plans and accomplishments.
More content, such as group portfolios will be added to the site in the weeks to come, but I am happy to say that we now have something that will be a positive benefit to campus.
