Search Transition Meeting/Presentation

May 28th, 2013 by Erick Beck

As we mentioned earlier, we will be transitioning from a local Google Search Appliance to the hosted Google Custom Search. To help you with this transition we have scheduled a meeting on Wednesday, June 5, at 2:00 pm in Rudder 601, for webmasters and developers to discuss new options for search boxes, site search, and college search. Bring questions, ideas and any examples you have. Michael can demo some of the Google Custom Search Engine features, including Linked Custom Search Engines, labels, and thumbnail images. You can find working Google Custom Search Engine (CSE) code and other resources at http://marcomm.tamu.edu/toolkit/web/search.html.

Right after the meeting, in the same room, the Go Mobile team will be giving a presentation on responsive web design. We would love to see you there for both. If you can’t give up an entire afternoon, though, we recommend that you attend the Go Mobile presentation. We will be holding more open meetings on the search transition so you can catch us at one of those instead.
