Information and insight from the A&M Webmasters

Aggieland .NET User Group January Meeting

January 12th, 2009 by tamuwebmaster

The first meeting of 2009 will be Tuesday, January 13th at 12:00 PM at the General Services Complex (GSC). J Sawyer from Microsoft will be presenting Windows Azure, the new “Cloud Computing” platform from Microsoft. More details are available at http://aggielanddnug.org/ or on twitter @aggielanddnug.

I know it’s short notice, but I hope we will have a big turnout, so everyone please come!  J Sawyer from Microsoft will be talking about Windows Azure, the new “Cloud Computing” platform Microsoft announced at PDC 2008.  It’s an exciting technology that most people don’t know much about yet, so take the opportunity to come by and get on the cutting edge!  Anyone who’s seen J speak before knows that he’s an excellent presenter.  As usual there will be door prizes, and Improving Enterprises will be providing pizza and drinks. Let Allen Hurst know if there are any special dietary requests.

The meeting will be held in room 101A in the General Services Complex (http://gscomplex.tamu.edu) on the corner of Agronomy and F&B.  Anyone with a valid A&M parking hangtag can park in lot 88 which is the lot closest to the tracks.

Make sure not to park in numbered or reserved spaces. You can park in front of the building or close to the building with a parking business placard and hangtag.  For those of us without A&M parking permits, paid parking is located in the South East corner of the parking lot.

It will cost $4 for 2 hrs.

At the meeting Allen will have surveys to allow everyone to provide suggestions, feedback, and opinions.
