TAMU Webmaster's Blog

Information and insight from the A&M Webmasters

Web Accessibility Web Hub

March 20th, 2008 by Erick Beck

As part of our ongoing effort to bolster the web accessibility issue on campus, we have (with David Sweeney’s kind permission) taken over and updated the webaccess.tamu.edu web site. We would like to use this host, which most of you are already familiar with, as the hub for all things related to web accessibility.

For the time being much of the content is similar to the old site, with the details generally being brought up to date. We very much see this as an evolutionary site though, and want to be able to make continuing additions to it. This site is seen as going hand-in-hand with the system- and university-level web accessibility groups that are being formed to look at updating policies and procedures. It will hopefully be a useful tool for webmasters across campus to go to for a clearcut interpretation of what the policies mean and real-life solutions to their requirements.

  1. Is anyone aware that the contact email address listed on the webaccess.tamu.edu website is not working? As of 8/26/2008, mail is being returned as “undeliverable”. (In other words, the Accessibility Team is not so accessible, at the moment 😉
