Information and insight from the A&M Webmasters

Calendar feeds, anyone?

February 21st, 2008 by tamuwebmaster

If you notice on the front page of the A&M site, the “News Headlines” section has a link to “More Feeds”. Well, the “events” section doesn’t. I’d like to get a page together that would have links to calendar feeds across the campus. It would help me out a lot in being able to see what is available event-wise and it would be nice to have some kind of foundation of feeds for when we decide to tackle a calendar.

There are a number of you out that are currently using Google Calendar or PHP iCal or something that can spit out an .ics file. So far, I’ve found:

  • Multicultural Services Events
  • Multicultural Services Student Organization Events
  • College of Engineering
  • College of Science
  • College of Education and Human Development
  • Biochemistry
  • Research and Graduate Studies
  • CIS

There are a bunch of others out there, but not in a feed-ready or feed-friendly format. Still, there must be or ought to be more. So if you have one or manage one and want to send us the feed URL, we’d like to include it on our Calendar/Events feeds list.
